The Puppy Academy
Every Great Dog Starts as a Curious Pup.
At Top Dog, we believe the first few months of your puppy’s life are the most important. The experiences they have during this critical developmental stage help shape the confident, happy companion they’ll become for years to come.
That’s why we created The Puppy Academy—a thoughtfully designed program for puppies 8–14 weeks old that focuses on socialization, confidence-building, healthy routines, enrichment, and positive experiences in a safe, boutique environment.
Unlike traditional daycare, The Puppy Academy follows a structured daily curriculum specifically designed around the developmental needs of young puppies. Every activity has a purpose, whether it’s learning appropriate play, discovering new textures and sounds, building resilience, or simply getting the restorative sleep growing puppies need.
Our philosophy is simple:
Building Confidence.
One Pup at a Time.
What Your Puppy Will Learn
Every day is carefully planned to help your puppy develop the skills they’ll carry throughout life.
Social Confidence
Learning appropriate play, reading body language, making friends, and interacting politely with other puppies and caring adults.
Emotional Confidence
Experiencing new sights, sounds, textures, and environments in a positive, fear-free setting that encourages curiosity instead of anxiety.
Life Skills
Practicing routines, gentle handling, calm transitions, crate familiarity when appropriate, and positive interactions with people.
Mental Enrichment
Problem-solving activities, scent games, puzzles, sensory exploration, and confidence courses that keep growing minds engaged.
Healthy Rest
Growing puppies need far more sleep than most people realize. Scheduled naps throughout the day allow them to process new experiences and avoid becoming overtired or overstimulated.
A Day at
The Puppy Academy
Our culinary team prepares nutritious, gourmet meals to cater to your pet’s dietary preferences and needs, ensuring a delightful dining experience.
7:00–8:00 AM | Welcome to School
Each puppy receives an individual welcome, potty break, wellness observation, and a calm introduction to their classmates before the day begins.
8:00–8:30 AM | Morning Social Circle
Puppies participate in carefully supervised playgroups with others of similar size, age, and personality.
8:30–9:15 AM | Recharge & Rest
Quiet music, cozy raised beds, soft blankets, and peaceful surroundings allow puppies to recharge after their busy morning. Growing brains need sleep to learn.
9:15–10:00 AM | Confidence Course
Every day introduces exciting but age-appropriate challenges that encourage curiosity and resilience.
10:00–10:30 AM | Potty Break & Puppy Manner
Frequent potty opportunities help reinforce healthy routines while puppies practice calm transitions and gentle handling.
10:30–11:15 AM | Brain Games
Mental exercise is just as important as physical play.
Activities rotate daily and may include:
– Snuffle mats
– Lick mats
– Puzzle toys
– Scent games
– Foraging activities
– Beginner problem-solving games
11:15 AM–12:00 PM | Lunch & Quiet Time
For puppies still eating multiple meals each day, lunch is served according to your preferred feeding schedule. After lunch, everyone enjoys another peaceful rest period.
12:00–1:00 PM | Play & Practice
Puppies return to supervised play while continuing to build social skills, confidence, and positive experiences with friends.
1:00–2:00 PM | Learning Through Play
Our team incorporates positive reinforcement into everyday interactions by encouraging puppies to:
– Come when called
– Follow handlers
– Practice focus
– Build confidence
– Develop calm behavior
– Explore independently
No harsh corrections. No intimidation. Just encouragement, praise, and patience.
2:00–3:00 PM | Afternoon Nap
Growing puppies require up to 18–20 hours of sleep each day.
Another scheduled nap helps prevent overstimulation and keeps everyone happy, healthy, and ready for the rest of the afternoon.
3:00–4:00 PM | Discovery Hour
Every afternoon brings something new to explore.
Your puppy may enjoy:
– Bubble play
– Ball pits
– Water exploration
– Seasonal enrichment activities
– New toys
– Different textures
– Safe sensory experiences
Because confident puppies become adaptable adult dogs.
4:00–5:00 PM | Wind Down
The day ends with gentle play, cuddles, potty breaks, and quiet social time before heading home tired, happy, and ready for an evening with their family.

Small Paws.
Big Confidence.
Every Great Dog Starts as a Curious Pup. The Puppy Academy at Top Dog is where confident, happy dogs begin.
Just like people, dogs thrive when they’re challenged, engaged, and given opportunities to use their natural instincts. Our enrichment program encourages problem-solving, builds confidence, reduces boredom, and helps create calmer, more balanced dogs both at daycare and at home.
Because every dog is different, we rotate activities daily to provide new experiences that stimulate the mind, engage the senses, and encourage healthy movement.
